Hyattsville’s Heurich Playground Reopens With New Equipment

With Hyattsville reopening playgrounds, residents can officially enjoy the all-new equipment at the Heurich Mobility Playground while practicing Covid-19 safety precautions.

Located at the corner of Heurich Park Road and Nicholson Street, the playground is one of three parks in the area, including a nearby dog park and the superhero playground farther down the road.

The playground now features new swings, including high-backed ones for younger kids, a rope ladder, slides, a rope bridge, a zipline and the city’s tallest rope climbing structure, topped with a clubhouse.

To minimize risk of transmitting coronavirus, all city playgrounds are now limited to 10 at a time (both kids and adults) and users are asked to maintain six feet of distance.

Hand sanitizing stations are available, but residents are asked to bring their own wipes and sanitizer as well. Playground equipment will also be deep cleaned once a week.
