The much-anticipated Pennyroyal Station will have a soft launch weekend, after a three-year delay caused by construction, permitting, utilities connections and the coronavirus pandemic.

The Mount Rainier restaurant will have a soft launch from 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and then will be open Tuesday, Nov. 24, and the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 27 and 28, operating partner Garrick Lumsden told the Hyattsville Wire.

The restaurant will then be closed until it formally opens on Tuesday, Dec. 1.

They will be taking reservations at (240) 770-8579 during the soft launch, though walk-ins are welcome and seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Under Prince George’s County’s current coronavirus restrictions, indoor seating will be limited to 25 percent of capacity. There will also be outdoor patio seating

Customers can call for carry-out starting Tuesday, Nov. 24 and Friday and Saturday Nov. 27 and 28.

The menu, now available online, includes appetizers like truffled potato croquettes, a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich for lunch, and dinner entrees such as winter squash and taleggio cheese lasagna, seared striped bass and slow-roasted suckling pig.
