New Caribbean Jerk Chicken Restaurant Coming to Hyattsville

A new jerk chicken restaurant is headed to downtown Hyattsville, in the space between Work+Shop 4814 and Streetcar 82 Brewing Co.

Journey’s Caribbean Jerk Chicken will be located in the historic Shops of Crittenden Crossing at 4816 Rhode Island Ave., in the space formerly occupied by a bail bond agent, joining other nearby destinations in addition to Streetcar including Pizzeria Paradiso and Art Works Now.

A permit issued by Prince George’s County describes the eatery as a takeout restaurant.

The building where the restaurant will be located in is also home to several other business including Keller Williams Capital Properties, a real estate agency that is part of the Menkiti Group, which owns building. Hyattsville’s Green Owl Design recently helped revamp the property.

Caribbean food is popular along the Route 1 corridor, with Bleu Iguana in Brentwood, Golden Krust at the Mall at Prince George’s,  The Jerk Pit in College Park and Caribbean Superior in Bladensburg.
