2Fifty Texas BBQ was named the best barbecue in the greater D.C. area by the Washington Post, as the Riverdale Park eatery keeps picking up accolades.
In a list of the top 10 barbecue joints published Tuesday, writer Tim Carman calls it “hands-down, the best smokehouse in the area.”
“Buttery wagyu brisket. Smoky St. Louis-style ribs with just the right tug. Turkey so moist it almost melts on the tongue. Pulled pork with the lightest, sweetest smoke profile,” he writes.
Carman also notes that co-owners Debby Portillo and Fernando Gonzalez put some Salvadoran spins on their side dishes, which include things like caramelized pineapple and brisket beans.
Eater D.C. recently named 2Fifty the best new restaurant in the D.C. area, and it’s also earned praise from sites like Thrillist.
Coming in at No. 7: Federalist Pig, which will open a mobile kitchen on the site of its upcoming restaurant at 5504 Baltimore Ave. in Hyattsville after Thanksgiving.
