New Greenbelt Bakery Delivers Homemade Doughnuts to Your Door

Greenbelt’s newest online doughnut shop will deliver straight to your door.

Galaxy Donuts isn’t open regular hours. Instead, owners Stephanie Rizk and Tiki Ayiku make small batches of doughnuts that are available for pickup, at 555 Crescent Road (a designated public spot), and delivery on select Saturday mornings.

Galaxy Donuts has a set menu of about 15 different doughnuts and introduces a new flavor every few months with the most popular flavors being lemony Solar Flare and, among kids, Big Bang, which is covered with rainbow sprinkles.

Rizk and Akiyu, both home bakers who have worked in food service in the past, typically make between 120 and 300 doughnuts for each pickup and delivery day. Friends and family who pitch in to make deliveries and wash dishes are paid in doughnuts.

The bakery opened on April 20, but Rizk and Ayiku both still have day jobs. Rizk told the Hyattsville Wire that the two are happy with the business the way it is, but they aren’t ruling anything out.

“We don’t currently have plans to open up a store front but if an amazing opportunity came along to expand, we would have to consider it,” she said.

Galaxy Donuts is next slated for pickup and delivery on Nov. 6 and Nov. 20, but they are also accepting special orders for Halloween. You can order online here or follow them on Instagram for updates.

Delivery is available to addresses in Greenbelt, College Park, Lanham, Berwyn Heights, Riverdale, Riverdale Park, University Park and Hyattsville.
